Blizzard
2012 Blizzard 8.1 IQ Max
Item Currently in Stock
The Magnum 8.1 is a smooth, powerful choice of weapon for all kinds of snow conditions. With two layers of magnesium in the core, you’ll find excellent edge grip with no speed limit. A slight early rise tip improves soft snow performance and keeps the skis from hooking in chunky snow. The IQ Max binding system allows you to easily remove or swap bindings, simplifying travel and reducing quiver overlap for alpine skiers who telemark.

What We Think
Rockered skis have been around for a decade now, but until recently they’ve been a real hassle on anything but soft snow. By centering the sidecut and stiffening up the cambered area underfoot, Rossi was able to make this ski hold up on hard snow without sacrificing the excellent deep snow and crud performance of a fully rockered ski. My favorite aspect: the aggressive tip rocker makes this ski float as well as many 110-120mm skis from a couple years ago.
